My Story

Hello world, I'm Dashiel "Dash" Gables, the Owner of God's Child Apparel. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Being brought up by a Christian family deeply involved in the church has planted me on firm ground. With an early love for drawing, I wanted to make cartoons. That switched up in high school. I attended Graphic Communication Arts HS in New York. That's where I fell in love with Graphic Design. Graduating and going onto college was a challenging experience. I obtained my Associate's in Graphic Design and took other courses to hone my craft.

After graduating, I sealed a job working for a junior's clothing line. Now ask me if I knew what a junior's clothing line was at that time because I had no clue, lol. All I knew was that I had a job. I utilized my hunger to learn and pick up on what was needed regarding tech packs, templates, and creating patterns.

In 2013 I lost my job due to Hurricane Sandy. I had no plan and no money, but I had a design—

a tattoo design at that. With a $500 donation to the company and one method, I set up a table at my church, and from then, we made our first sales.

This brand has no limits, focusing on fresh ideas, we experiment, we fail, and we adapt to the new and innovative that unique for yourself and identifiable for others God's Child Apparel
